The much hyped takeover bid of Football Kenya Federation Division One Zone B side Muhoroni Young by Kericho Rovers was, after all,a sham and may end up in a bitter tussle.

Under a promissory,Kericho Rovers took over the running of Muhoroni Young's remaining season, pending full certification of the club while also awaiting the conclusion of the league campaign to initiate a name change with the Federation.

FKF Division Two Central Zone's Kericho Rover, having finished fourth in the 2022-2023 campaign, got into an agreement to buyout Muhoroni's slot in the third tier for the upcoming 2023-2024 season and shift base to Kericho Green Stadium.

Posing as the Muhoroni Young owner,Moses Adagala and Kericho Rovers Chairman Ogallo James Olweny signed the takeover deal on 11 July 2023 in presence of Obondo Koko & Co. Advocates. The later then deposited an intial amount of USD 2200 into Adagala's personal account.

A rejuvenated Muhoroni Young then moved to Kericho Green Stadium for the last three league matches.

During a verification meeting with the FKF Leagues and Competitions committee it was revealed that Muhoroni Young is listed under Collince Dave, who is the sole authority to a club buyout.Adagala, though vocal and the evident face of the club, was officially not listed as a signatory of Muhoroni Young and therefore could not carry out any ownership transactions for the club.

Adagala is now hindering efforts by Olweny to have Dave sign the takeover.Olweny has sought legal redress. He admitted the matter at Kericho High Court to be played in the legal corridors.Another shrapnel to the heart of the beautiful game.
