Points deductions into season 2024, Ksh 300,000 fine, and featuring the next five home matches in an empty stadium.
Following the incident that tainted the National Super League promotion playoff match against Nairobi United where a match official was assaulted, a Nation Media Group photojournalist's camera broken for capturing the incident, and match abandonment in the 85th minute, Zoo has appealed the decision by the FKF Leagues and Competitions Committee
In the Federation ruling, Nairobi United gained promotion.
Zoo lost three goals and will kick off the new season at minus three points
Further, Zoo has been fined Ksh 300,000 and will play their next five league home matches without fans.
The zoo has gone ahead to seek legal redress via the Federation's Appeals Committee and wants the entire ruling by the Leagues and Competitions Committee quashed.
In the appeal, Zoo point out that contrary to Articles 48, 65, and 68 of the FKF Constitution and Rules the Leagues and Competitions Committee did not have jurisdiction over the matter as it was a disciplinary case, and thus should have been handled primarily by the FKF Disciplinary Committee.
Further, though erroneously and not a requirement given Nairobi's stakes in the match outcome as they were leading, Zoo claims that Nairobi United failed to file a complaint on the same matter within the prescribed time, or at all.
Zoo also faulted the Federation for hosting the match in an open field and failing to designate fan zones and erecting barriers and fences around the playing pitch.
Zoo is probably pushing their luck as an assault on a match official normally accrues much heavier penalties for the upcoming season plus relegation or a fine.
