Kamungei United have been relegated from the FKF Division One after failing to honour their home game aganist Bungoma Superstars at Kamungei Secondary School Grounds. They will now feature in the division two league.

This was the third match the club was failing to honour in the current season having missed two others aganist Transfoc Fc and first leg action pitting them against Bungoma Superstars.

Under the FKF leagues and competitions rules they are, subsequently relegated to the lower divisions.

Teams that have played Kamungei in the second leg will have to be deducted the points they got, which is going to have a huge impact on National Super League promotion race.

The Bomet based club was hit with a massive player exodus, eventually crippling the club's performance.

Kamungei also faulted the federation for failing to give them a listening ear, noting that the walkover could have been avoided and the match rescheduled if FKF had heard their grievances.

However, the club was granted an extension of two hours after kick off time ,but were unable to raise match officials fee and security.

After consultations with the head office Kamungei was allowed up to 3.45pm to kick off after which their opponents marched to the field and the match commisioner called off the match in favour of Bungoma Superstars FC.

Kamungei United who,at the time, were without a win in nine league matches, were ranked outside the promotion bracket with seven points from 24 matches. They leave the league with one point after the mandatory six point deduction.
