Rainbow FC moved top of Football Kenya Federation division one league zone A for the first time this season after edging out 3K FC 2-0 at the Kagumori Grounds, Embu on Sunday afternoon.There are three matches to the end of the season.

The league leaders have won seven of their last eight matches,the hosts had lost only once in the last five matches.

Dulmant Mustafa broke the deadlock in the twelfth minute with a cleverly taken strike from the edge of the box ,a goal the Macharia-coached side held on to the break .

Moses Mwai's 3K entered the final half with determination and quickly had Rainbow labouring to keep pace in the opening ten minutes of the second half. 3K were made to pay for their squandered chances, as Jacob Otieno rounded up his two makers before unleashing a ferocios strike to double the lead for Rainbow. The Stanley Okumbi managed team held on to pick their ninth victory in ten division one league matches and boost chances of gracing Kenya's third tier.

The victory meant the league newbies march helm of the league on 61 points level with Malindi based Bulls though enjoy a better goal difference.

Nairobi United 3-0 Young Bulls

Elsewhere, Nairobi United returned to winning ways with a three nil statement win over second placed Young Bulls United, who were on a winless streak of three games ,scored through Bonface Ontere brace and Majaliwa Charo 84th minute chip over Bulls' Sudi Nyamawi.
