The start of our second round games, for the most part, is different from 5 weeks ago! Teams showed they are ready to get back while some continue to flex their strength in this league. Our main man commissioner was out but that did not stop the whole BBLS3 group to self-organize and continue on high level for our weekend basketball event. Intensity was obvious, passion in every shot and a "W" flag was given to those who wanted it more on our BBLS3 Day 6!
Team Ollie & Team Evergreen got it going early! Team Evergreen got a double digit lead early on the game, during the first quarter, even if their scoring leader Randy "Savage" was not present. But Charles "The lieutenant" took over and carry the Evergreen pack on his shoulders jotting a Day high 22 points and 12 rebounds to complete his double-double game! Team Evergreen continue to lead until the start of the 4th quarter but team Ollie felt they needed this win. Team Ollie, had their own secret weapon young gun, Zoe "Downtown Kid" who was a pain for team Evergreen, throwing quite a handful of daggerish shots from downtown, recording a team high 20 points and a ticket to Day 6 POTG! It was a battle of the young guns for our first game, Team Ollie got the upper hand today.
The Alder gang, up against the Clubhouse boys for our bloody second game. The gang showed they mean business early in the first quarter with the help of their dynamic duo Sam Millete & Vince "Viper" Vibares who exploded with double digit scoring just as we start the game and his first ride in our POTG history books. It was an early blowout over the Clubhouse boys who's missing their big 3, oh well… It was an emphatic message from the Team Alder, be ready or get eaten alive. This was the gang's second 20+ point blowout bash for their opponent.
Team Calathea continues to flex some muscles as they continue their winning streak. There was a lot of trash talk from both teams young guns. Team Cali was in control the whole game. They were almost sure about their 6-game winning streak as their key players relaxingly chilled out putting their numbers up. Darrel "Destroyer" Del Pillar, "Wreck-It-Ralph" Marinay & Ram "Slam" Zaragoza listed a combined 43 points and 25 rebounds. Team Maple tried their best to keep the scores close, but the story was about the west giant's 57 rebounds, even more than Team Maple's 51 total points. The records of the two teams continues to be both at the extremes of our league standing 6 straight wins & straight losses…
Four games to go for each teams. A lot of opportunities for teams to steer on how they want their BBL Season 3 story will be told. Another pivotal day as BBLS3 day 7 comes near. How will your favorite team will prep? Who will the masses cheer on? The underdogs? The favorites? Whatever side you choose, the league can only promise an exciting and heart pounding ride this coming weekend. Watch out!
