Flambeau du Centre inflict first lose of the season to Bumamuru Fc

Flambeau du Centre hosted Bumamuru Fc in a top of the table clash at Gitega in a rescheduled match day six Fixture ,both Flambeau du Centre and Bumamuru Fc represented Burundi in CAF champions league and CAF confederation cup respectively missing match day six .

Heading into the fixture , Bumamuru Fc were yet to lose a match in Burundi Premier League ,the last lose coming in April 2021/2022 season aganist BS Dynamik . Flambeau du Centre were from the back of a shock lose at the hands of Kayanza United over the weekend .

The match started with a high tempo with Vivier Bahati boys Bumamuru Fc close to getting an opener in the 10th minute through Enock Tumebarikiwa but his shot hit the crossbar and out for a corner .

Flambeau du Centre developed into the game towards the end of the first half as Flambeau got more balls and controlled possession but less balls got to trouble Bumamuru Fc custodian Patient Ndikuriyo.

The first half ended in a barren draw as Flambeau du Centre coach Memocil medic seemed troubled with the scoreline which meant Bumamuru Fc were streaching the gap at top of the Burundi Premier League table.

Flambeau du Centre made a double substitution at the start of the second half as Abdourahim Rukundo and Japheth Niyera were introduced to strengthen the strike force .

Japheth Niyera picked up Moussa Muryango in the 80th minute with a lose ball at the edge of the box before Muryango unleashed a shot that send Patient Ndikuriyo the opposite side to give Flambeau du Centre the lead .

Four minutes later , Flambeau du Centre utility man Guy Kavumbagu Nahimana doubled past three Bumamuru Fc defenders to slot home a second in an empty net before full back Japheth Niyera headed home a third in the 89th minute to give Flambeau du Centre a third goal of the game .

The match ended with Flambeau du Centre getting three points and three goals which was the first lose of the season to Bumamuru Fc who are chasing a first Burundi Premier League title since it's inception in 2017/2018 season.

The win takes Flambeau du Centre to 30 points only two points behind Bumamuru Fc and Vital'O FC ,a win on Saturday aganist Magara Young Boys will take Flambeau du Centre to the summit of Burundi Premier League with the first leg coming to an endendendendendendendend
