Musongati FC hopes of leapfrogging Aigle Noir at the summit of Burundi Premier League table suffered a blow as they held to a third consecutive draw in the Burundi Premier League by league minnows Tigre Noir on Sunday evening
Heading into this fixture, Musongati had not lost a game in 15 competitive matches as Tigre Noir were 7 Burundi Premier League games without a win and had not kept a clean sheet in 9 Burundi Premier League matches , Musongati FC were enjoying a good defensive form not conceding in 4 consecutive Burundi Premier League games
Musongati FC,the 2018 Burundi Cup winners,moved into the match as the favorites but found themselves behind with 25 minutes played as the in form Tigre Noir striker Abdi Ineza shot from close range to give Tigre Noir unlikely lead in a half filled stadium in Gitega ,2 minutes later ,the home stand was sent into erupted with roars as Tresor Mubango headed home Josue Alberto Mugisha corner to equalize for Musongati.

Abdi Ineza exchanged perfectly with Karim Kamana before passing the ball to Saleh Aslam who laid a perfect ball to Abdi Ineza to send it to the top left corner to restore Tigre Noir lead in the 51st minute .This was the first time in 10 months that Musongati had conceded two goals in a match ,last conceding 2-1 in a lose aganist Vital'O in January
Barros Tambwe was replaced by Kessy Jordan Nimbona in a change of tactics from Musongati technical bench in a bid to rescue a point Infront of the disappointed home fans who watched with dismay as Musongati headed for a lose at the hands of the League strugglers Tigre Noir.
Kessy Jordan Nimbona sub paid off as he scored five minutes after been subbed in to put Musongati FC back level .Little was left to play for the remaining 20 minutes as Tigre Noir players sat back to defend the two goals and avoid conceding a third to at least secure a point in Gitega
The match ended with Musongati FC and Tigre Noir sharing the spoils ,the match leaves Tigre Noir with no wins in seven Burundi Premier League matches and 15th out of 16 teams in Burundi Premier League table as Musongati records a third consecutive draw in Burundi Premier League moving 4th out of 16 teams in Burundi Premier League
