Burundi Primus League continued over the weekend with a host of eight Burundi Premier League
matches been played across various fields in Burundi.
At Stade Urunani , Bumamuru Fc hosted Burundi Premier League newbies Magara Young Boys with
Magara Young Boys eying three points to bring an end to their dismal start to life in Burundi Premier
League.
Bumamuru Fc were the better side as from the start of the first half with sanitizing passes cutting
through Magara Young Boys defenders , Michael Nduwimana picked up a lose ball from Shassir
Nahimana dribbled past Samuel Ndayishimiye before firing past Omar Irankunda (who was making his
Burundi Premier League first appearance of the season ) to give Bumamuru Fc a lead with only 8
minutes played ,four minutes later, a long range shot from Shassir Nahimana doubled Bumamuru Fc
lead as Magara YB were headed to a fifth defeat in Burundi Premier League
Coach Salum Fahim Gahinga was forced into making tactical changes with only 20 minutes played but it
bore no fruits as the midfield combination of Alfred Nkurunzinza and Shassir Nahimana continued to
trouble Magara Young Boys defenders , Patient Ndikuriyo, Bumamuru Fc custodian was left with less to
do as no attacks got to his area
With seconds left for the first half to end, A great exchange between Bumamuru Fc players Alfred
Nkurunzinza and Fabrice Ndagijimana, picked up Shassir Nahimana at the edge of Magara Young Boys
box who made no mistake from the edge placing the ball into the top left corner to double his tally and
get Bumamuru Fc the third .
The first half ended with Bumamuru Fc ahead with three goals to nil
Magara Young Boys coach Salum Fahim Gahinga, made substitutions at the start of the second half to at
least save the already sinking Magara Young Boys but a defense mix up at the back gave opportunity for
Fabrice Ndagijimana to score his first of the season in Burundi Premier League and Bumamuru Fc fourth
.
Efforts from Ismail Kamana to at least get a consolation goal were not fruitful as Bumamuru Fc defenders
lead by Samuel Ndayishimiye blocked all the balls coming into Bumamuru Fc zone .Superb Richard
Kirongozi Bazombwa raced Magara Young Boys midfielders to score a sole goal in the dying minutes of
the game to add more woes to Coach Salum Fahim Gahinga who now faces the axe .
The win takes Bumamuru Fc to 4th out 16 teams in Burundi Premier League with 5 points behind leaders
Aigle Noir though with two games in hand ,Magara Young Boys drop to 15th out of 16 with only one win
since promotion to the Burundi Premier League.
Asked about his future by Radio Magara Times, Coach Salum Fahim Gahinga who has lead Magara Young
Boys to 5 defeats ,1 draw and 1 win said , “ this football and anything can happen ,if I will be needed to
pave way for changes ,I will happily step aside and give room ,though for a club to perform various
aspects are to be put into consideration.” On his side , Coach Jean Marie Vianney Nduwantere said ,”
I’m happy with how the boys have performed today and I can assure our fans that we are bringing the
Burundi Premier League title home .”
This performance means Bumamuru Fc are yet to lose any Burundi Premier League match this season.
