The Burundian league entered the sixth week past weekend with six matches taking place over Saturday and Sunday .
Two matches featuring Flambeau du centre and Bumamuru Fc were postponed due to their engagement in CAF competitions with the former qualifying for round two of CAF Champions League .
In the North, at Urukundo Stadium,Messager Ngozi entertained Magara Star Fc,in a match that brought Urukundo to full capacity ,Ngozi headed into the match as favorites to pick all three points and maintain the lead at top as Magara YB were determined to get first away win of the season.
Efforts by both teams to get a goal were all in vain as the back fours and the custodians were forced in spectacular saves during the match forcing the match to end in a barren draw .
The draw ensured Messager Ngozi were back on top of the log awaiting postponed matches featuring Bumamuru and Flambeau du centre who will be back in action this Thursday and Friday respectively,after missing two match days.The draw also meant that,the 2020 President Cup winners are also unbeaten this season with 2 draws and 4 wins.
Àt Ingoma Stadium, Musongati were hosting Bujumbura city,and with only three minutes of play, Musongati through Kessy well rounded up Bujumbura City custodian and slotted home from a close distance to get the lead.
In a highly contested match , Bujumbura City kept knocking at the yellows post until the 30th minute when Bujumbura City got an equalizer after a defensive mix up at the back.
Jordan Kessy was at it again picking a lose ball from the midfield before dribbling past three Bujumbura City defenders and again rounding up the goalkeeper then slotted home past an empty net to give Musongati the lead again with 30 minutes left to play for .
Elsewhere,Aigle Noir got an important 2-0 win at Nkurunziza Peace Park Complex Stadium against Inter Stars after Losing their last match at Urunani Stadium when they were playing Rukinzo FC ,the win keeps them one point behind league leaders Le messager ngozi.
