12:00 pm - Bulls vs Celtics
Week 5 kicks off with a rematch of perhaps the best playoff game from a season ago, as the Bulls take on the Celtics. In their round of 16 matchup from the Spring 2022 playoff tournament, the Celtics stunned the Bulls on a Billy Baptist halfcourt buzzer beater, to win 63-60. Although Baptist no longer plays for the Celtics, the Bulls will really want revenge in this matchup, as they seek their second consecutive win. The Celtics meanwhile are now the league's lone winless team, as their struggles in the latter stages of the second half of games continued in last week's loss to the Spurs. After trimming the deficit to just three points, the Celtics were outscored 18-1 by the Spurs to close out the contest. The Celtics will aim to start quicker this week, and they will need Jonathan Townsend at his best if they hope to do that. Townsend averaged 15.5 points per game a season ago, but is only averaging 11.2 points per game through four contests. The Celtics' best player so far has been newcomer Antonio Phillips, who is averaging 15.8 points per game, and a whopping 11.5 rebounds per game. Phillips ranks third overall in rebounds per game, an impressive figure for a guard. The next closest guard comes in at 8.5 rebounds per game. As the Bulls look to create a win streak, they figure to have a massive advantage on the glass. Without Baptist, and big men Isaiah Dean and Jay Slone, the Celtics lack the size needed to rebound with some of the league's bigger teams. Look for Seth Johnson, Nick Crowe, and Bobby Crivokapich to have big games on the glass, along with newcomer Jonah Switzer, who provided a big second half spark off the bench for the Bulls in their Week 4 win with 13 points and seven rebounds. If the Bulls can contain the top two scorers of the Celtics, their depth and offensive firepower should give them the edge in this one, as they try to fend off the league's last winless squad.

1:00 pm - Lakers vs Bucks
A star-studded Lakers lineup will face a true test in the 1 pm game on Sunday, as they will match up with Billy Baptist and the Bucks. Despite trailing by 12 points with only minutes remaining in their Week 1 contest against the Warriors, the Lakers find themselves as the league's lone undefeated team at 4-0, as they have gotten better and better each week. Through four games, the Lakers are averaging a league-best 85.0 points per game, aided by five players averaging double figures. LJ Harris (17.3 ppg) has proved to be one of the league's biggest offseason additions, as he has joined forces with Kawani Blackman (16.5 ppg), Brian Hernandez (13.5 ppg) and Tone Brooks (11.3 ppg) to form a prolific scoring attack. Point guards Gerald Duckworth and Andre Robertson Jr are also beginning to make an impact on the court, after missing time to open the season. Despite having a ton of star power, and not a ton of height, the Lakers have proved the doubters wrong so far, as they have shared the ball, shared playing time, and have all crashed the boards in a collective effort. The opposing Bucks enter the contest with a record of 2-2, having won a pair of OT games in Weeks 1 and 2, before dropping a tough 80-78 decision against the Rockets in the Week 4 game of the week. Reigning second-team all-leaguer's - Billy Baptist (22.3 ppg) and Aleks Malinic (14.0 ppg) - lead the team in scoring, while head coach Caleb Johnson (14.0) is playing some of his best basketball around the perimeter. This game figures to be interesting, because the Lakers have the league's best lineup of guards, but will be severely outsized against the size of the Bucks. If the Lakers can run at the pace that they want, the Bucks will likely struggle to keep up on the perimeter and in transition. On the flip side, if Baptist can get going offensively, and the Bucks can utilize what should be a big time advantage on the glass, they may be able to give the Lakers problems. Don't miss this one, as the Lakers look to be the league's first team to get to five wins.

2:00 pm - Suns vs Pistons
Two of the more surprising teams so far this season in the K1 League, in the Suns and Pistons, both enter a pivotal game in Week 5 with 1-3 records. While both teams were projected by many to be in the conversation for the final four, the word "surprising" comes to mind, as each team has had major personnel issues, thus not living up to preseason expectations thus far. Both teams had relatively full rosters in Week 3 and looked solid in big wins. In the other three weeks however, both sides have looked vulnerable, lacking the necessary depth to compete with the top teams in the K1 League. If both teams have a full roster on Sunday, this figures to be one of the best matchups of the day, as several big men will go at it down low. The Suns will hope to have Jared Johnson (11.0 ppg and 10.0 apg) and John Oliver (11.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg) back in the lineup, who both missed a Week 4 loss to the undefeated Lakers. The Suns have been led by Ryan Kvasnicka (20.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg) and Vashawn Sims (17.5 ppg), who are as dynamic scorers as any players in the entire league. The Pistons are expected to have talented center Khapri Alston back in their lineup. Alston is a major piece of what coach Anthony Porche hopes is a midseason turnaround for his Pistons' roster. Alston had 13 points and 11 rebounds in a Week 3 win over the Celtics, and is a problem for any team to stop down low. Perhaps the key to the game for the Pistons will be how they defend the perimeter, against the athleticism of the Suns. Mark Conner has cemented himself as one of the league's top scorers, scoring exactly 100 points through his team's first four games (25.0 ppg). His matchup with Ryan Kvasnicka figures to be a fun one, as several players who played for the Suns a season ago, now hope to see if their Pistons team can pick up its first signature win in league history.

3:00 pm - Heat vs Spurs
The Heat have as big a day as anyone on Sunday, as they take on the Spurs and Grizzlies in a split doubleheader, as both teams they face are 3-1. The Heat on the other hand have a record of 1-3, and could be in danger of taking a major tumble down the league standings if they don't play well on Sunday. They start with a Spurs team that has looked nothing like their championship team of the past seasons. The Spurs' 22-game win streak was snapped in Week 3 in an ugly loss to the Warriors, where the team scored just 15 points in the second half, and leading scorer Dennis Koger (18.0 ppg) had just five points in the contest. Koger bounced back in a massive way in Week 4, as he dropped 36 points and 14 rebounds, to take home player of the week honors. It's as clear as ever that the Fall 2022 K1 League will run through Koger, as he still has a say in the player of the year conversation. Although Koger bailed out a Spurs team in Week 4 that was extremely lackluster on the offensive end of the court, he may struggle to do it again singlehandedly against the athleticism of the Heat, especially without the Green brothers. The Spurs biggest issue this season has been taking care of the ball, as they deeply miss the veteran presence of former point guard Ray Lawrence. Waiting on the other side of the aisle will be the Heat, who are known for their patented defensive pressure, and their ability to force teams to turn the ball over. If the Heat are able to do this effectively, look for them to run and gun against a Spurs team, that lacks experience on the perimeter - especially without Ben Green (15.7 ppg) or Chris Green (14.0 ppg). Terrell Hendrix continues to be a scoring machine (25.0 ppg), and despite the 1-3 record as a team, he appears to finally be getting some help around him. CJ Link (15.8 ppg) was dominate in the Heat's lone win in Week 3, while Lamarius Lillard (11.0 ppg and 7.0 rpg) impressed in his debut against the Nets last week. Jwaquese Springer (10.0 ppg) has also jumped off the screen a few times with his high-flying ability and his smooth jump shot. Look for this game to be extremely close from wire to wire, as the Heat will have the upper hand on the perimeter and in transition. The question for the Heat, as it always is, will they have an answer for Dennis Koger or Trey Johnson?

4:00 pm - Nets vs Warriors
The Week 5 game of the week may be can't-miss TV, as former Warriors' teammates square off in a battle of superstars. The Nets boast a record of 3-1, led by Sammie Hines (20.0 ppg) and Martavias Laster (18.3 ppg). Meanwhile the Warriors come into this contest with a 2-2 record, as top scorers Latrell Tidwell (20.3 ppg) and Tyree Mosley (18.3 ppg) have carried their team offensively thus far. You may recall the 2021 Fall K1 League, where these four players anchored a Warriors team, which had one of the most prolific offenses in K1 history. That Warriors' team won 13 games and made the championship game. Both sets of stars are looking to cement a new legacy with their current teams, as the Nets appear to have as good of chemistry as any team in the K1 League. The same cannot be said of the Warriors meanwhile, as they continue to work through their own issues with their roster and play style. Despite ending the Spurs' 22-game win streak back in Week 3, the Warriors looked sluggish and discombobulated in Week 4, fading in the second half in an 8-point loss to the Grizzlies. If they are not on top of their game this Sunday, the Nets may keep on rolling, as they bring the league's top defense (61.2 ppg allowed) into the contest. While each team's dynamic duo figures to play a big roll in this game, the outcome may be determined by role players, something that the Nets do better than just about anyone. Mook Lawrence (12.0 ppg and 8.5 rpg) has been a pleasant surprise through four games, and Jared Harris (8.7 ppg) has been a big spark off the bench as well. The only role player on the Warriors' roster that is averaging double figures is Quon Shaw (10.0 ppg), who despite scoring 20 points in a Week 2 win over the Heat, had just nine points combined in his team's previous two contests. While Mosley and Tidwell are good enough on their own to beat any team in the K1 League, they will need Shaw, head coach Otis Houston, and the Anderson brothers to step things up on Sunday. If the Warriors bring their A-game, look for them to push the Nets to the brink, in one of the biggest rivalry games of the Fall 2022 K1 Season.

5:00 pm - Grizzlies vs Heat
The early favorite for coach-of-the-year has to be Walter Hudson, who has guided the Grizzlies to an impressive 3-1 start. While they have three impressive wins, their lone loss is impressive as well, as they held the 4-0 Lakers to 63 points in a seven-point defeat. The Grizzlies will look to continue their solid play on both ends of the court, but will face in a tough opponent in the ultra-athletic Heat. The Heat will have already played the Spurs at 3 pm, which could definitely influence the way that they step onto the court in the Week 5 finale. The Grizzlies have been propelled by the White brothers in the early going of the season. Chad White is averaging 12.8 points per game and 8.8 rebounds per game, as he took home player of the week honors back in Week 1. Chris White stepped up in a big way this past week, with 25 points and nine rebounds against the Warriors. If the White brothers can continue to perform at this level, they add a completely different dimension to what the Grizzlies are capable of accomplishing this season. The next-biggest question for the Grizzlies then has to be, what kind of guard play will they get from this roster? It seems as though they have four or five very capable options, perhaps with one or two of these guys ready to step it up each week. Dan Mitchell was the man of the hour in Week 4, as he had 15 points against the Warriors. Rich Kirk is another talented forward who had 12 points against the Warriors, and will be matchup nightmare for several teams. If the Heat are to salvage their season on Sunday, they may need to find a way to pull out a win in this one. Their advantage could come on the perimeter, where the Grizzlies may struggle to throw bodies at the offensive attack of the Heat. Look for Terrell Hendrix and CJ Link to have big games in this one, as the Heat will do everything they can to slow down a Grizzlies team that is as confident as any team in the K1 League.
