12:00 pm - Pistons @ Celtics
The Pistons and Celtics both enter Week 3 winless, and will look to pick up some momentum on the young season as the league heads into an off weekend for Labor Day. Although both teams are 0-2, they have taken very different paths getting there. Despite having one of the most talented rosters on paper, the Pistons have struggled getting their personnel to the gym, as they had just four guys show in their week two drubbing against the Lakers. The lone bright spot for the Pistons has been Mark Conner, who is averaging 32 points per game through his two contests. For the Pistons to get going, they need big man Kaphri Alston to make an appearance, as well as Shalimar Jacobs and Marquette Muhammad, a couple key role players. For the Celtics, Antonio Phillips has been their best player by far, averaging 17.5 points per game and 11 rebounds per game. For the Celtics to beat a team like the Pistons, Phillips will need several of his teammates to push the ball in transition and to play more aggressive getting to the rim. Donald Ellis had 15 points against the Rockets on Sunday, while Jonathan Townsend had 13 points. The Celtics will also need Gavin Webb and Joshua Washington to produce more offensively if they want to hang with the talent and size of the Pistons.

1:00 pm - Heat @ Bulls
Despite finishing the Spring 2022 regular season in second place, the Heat now find themselves on a three game losing streak, following their 65-52 loss to the Warriors in Week 2. Although Terrell Hendrix remains one of the league's most prolific scorers, the Heat reverted to their old ways in an ugly second half against the Warriors, connecting on just four three-pointers, and turning the ball over 19 times to just nine assists. The Heat also showed a lack of depth, as no other player outside of Hendrix scored more than six points. In order to turn things around, CJ Link and Jwaquese Springer will need to play like they did in Week 1, and they need their one of their bigs - Lamarius Lillard and Chino Johnson - to make an appearance to help them on the interior. The Heat lost both matchups to the Bulls in the Fall 2022 League, before bouncing back with a big second half in a 66-56 win over the Bulls back in February of the Spring 2022 League. The key for the Heat will be slowing down big man Seth Johnson, who is averaging more than 20 points per game in three contests against the Heat. Johnson and the Bulls also start out 0-2, but their season has a bit different feel to it. The Bulls showed on Sunday that they can score the ball with anyone in the league, as took a 42 point performance from the Bucks' Billy Baptist to edge the Bulls in overtime, 90-89. If the Bulls can get the type of offensive production that they had in Week 2, with five players scoring in double figures, they may be as tough an out as any team in the K1 League. For that reason, the Bulls are not panicking at all, as they look to get back in the semifinal conversation this season. Look for Benito Munoz (24 points against the Heat) and Nick Crowe (20.5 ppg through two contests) to have big games against the Heat's zone defense on Sunday.

2:00 pm - Lakers @ Grizzlies
Following a week off, the Grizzlies will put their 2-0 record to the test against the 2-0 Lakers in a highly anticipated matchup of undefeated teams. Not only is this the week three game of the week, as the Lakers and Grizzlies make up two of the five remaining undefeated teams, but there are some additional story lines that add to the appeal for this game. The Grizzlies' coach, Walt Hudson, comes over from a Lakers team that he played with a year ago, and he brings Mendi Naylor and week one player-of-the-week Chad White with him. Coach Andre Robertson and his Lakers will look to silence the upstart Grizzlies, as they are fresh off of perhaps two of the bigger wins so far this season. In a week two win over the shorthanded Pistons team, the Lakers showed the rest of the league that their offense is going to be as good as they come, as they had all seven players score in double figures. Gerald Duckworth made his season debut this past Sunday, scoring eleven points and grabbing six rebounds. The Lakers also expect all-league guard Brian Hernandez back this Sunday as well. Tone Brooks is coming off the league's all-time assists in a game, as he had 21 against the Pistons in a near triple-double effort. The Grizzlies will welcome Chris White into their lineup for his K1 league debut, as he and his brother Chad White will look to use their height advantage on the interior. Don't miss the game of the week, as both of these teams hope to head into the off weekend with a perfect 3-0 record.

3:00 pm - Suns @ Bucks
In the second of three rivalry games, CC Malone will have the spotlight on himself again in Week 3, as he takes on his former teams in the Suns. Malone came up clutch in the Bucks' Week 2 win, as he knocked down consecutive three-pointers in the final minute of OT to lift the Bucks to a 90-89 win over the Bulls. Malone stepped up with 16 points, and did so in the timeliest of manners, as the Bucks faced off against Seth Johnson without their all-league center, Aleks Malinic. Billy Baptist was also sensational for the Bucks in that contest, leading the way with 42 points, ten rebounds, and seven assists, to garner Week 2 player of the week honors. The Bucks sit at 2-0 following a pair of overtime wins, but will face an even tougher test on Sunday, as they matchup with the defending runner-up Suns. For the Suns, one may expect them to play with some urgency in this one, after getting upset in each of their first two games. Reigning player of the year Ryan Kvasnicka is averaging 21 points per game through his first two contests, but the team as a whole is still figuring out their identity. With only four returners on their roster, the Suns will be forced to rely on some new faces. John Oliver had 12 points in their Week 1 loss to the Grizzlies, while Jamir Hinds had 16 points in their Week 2 loss to the Nets. Jared Johnson had a double-double with 11 points and 10 assists against the Nets, and Jay Kvasnicka averages 11.5 points per game. The key for the Suns will be continuing to get back in shape, and seeing how their unity can play a bit more collectively down the stretch. Look out for Vashawn Sims or Derrick Dale, both of whom could provide a nice spark for the Suns as they look to get in the win column in a loaded matchup with the Bucks in Week 3.

4:00 pm - Warriors @ Spurs
Get your popcorn for this one, as the loaded matchups just keep on coming in Week 3. Former teammates Tyree Mosley and Latrell Tidwell, will square off against the Spurs for the first time since October 10, 2021, which also happens to be the last time the Spurs lost in the K1 League. In the past almost eleven months, the Spurs have rattled off 22 straight wins, along their way two to titles number two and three. Mosley and Tidwell were key parts of the most recent Spurs' championship team in the Spring 2022 K1 League, before reuniting with coach Otis Houston and the Warriors for the Fall 2022 K1 League. While neither player left the Spurs under bad terms, it does add some extra flare to this matchup. Mosley was a unanimous selection for player of the week following his performance in that matchup almost a year ago, where he had 36 points, and connected on a ridiculous 10/15 from three point range. He may need to do more of the same in this one, if the Warriors want to knock off the juggernaut Spurs. Dennis Koger made his return to the court for the defending champions in Week 2, and had 13 points in an efficient effort. Newcomer Ben Green has been one of the league’s biggest surprises, as he has led the Spurs in scoring in both of their games. The younger Green had 16 points against the Bulls, and 21 points against the Rockets. The Spurs will need to rely on him, as they could be without two key guards in the contest. We'll also see two of the best big men in the K1 League square off down low, as Trey Johnson will presumably matchup with the Warriors' Tidwell. While the Spurs may be the deeper team, don't count out Mosley, Tidwell, and Quon Shaw, as the Warriors look for a signature upset.

5:00 pm - Nets @ Rockets
Perhaps no team has gotten off to a more impressive start than the Nets, who are 2-0 and have wins against bigger, stronger Pistons and Suns teams. Martavias Laster (15.5 ppg) and Sammie Hines (17.0 ppg) continue to be one of the best one-two punches in the entire league, while Mook Lawrence (15.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg) has been one of the league's best surprises so far. Although the Nets don't have a ton of height on the interior, it didn't phase them at all in either contest. A first look at the Rockets showed that they will have some athletic guard play of their own, and Antonio Marshall (28.5 ppg) may be as electric as anyone in the K1 League. Alex Thorson also impressed, as he had 14 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in their win over the Celtics. The biggest contrast in the Week 3 finale may be in terms of playing experience. The Nets have as many veterans as any team in the league, which could give them an edge over the younger Rockets, who will need some time to mesh together on the court. However, if the Rockets can play like they did for the first 15 minutes of their game against the Spurs, they have the roster to push the Nets. Look for Harry Marshall - brother of Antonio - and Hunter Jacobs, a former forward at Olivet, to make an immediate impact whenever their K1 League debut comes. Both teams would love a win in this one, as the Nets look to get to 3-0 for the second straight season, while a Rockets win would leapfrog them in the standings over the Nets, and put them in the conversation as one of the league's top teams.
