12:00 pm - Grizzlies (0-1) @ Bucks (1-0)
The Grizzlies open play for a second straight week as they take on the Bucks to kick off the second week of the Spring 2022 Season. Michael Lonergan's Grizzlies played perhaps the best regular season game that any of his teams have ever played on Sunday, despite falling 75-69 to the Bulls. The Grizzlies are a team that plays hard, plays together, and have a lot of depth. Although they still lack a bit of size, newcomer Ben Matthews was their best player on Sunday, scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds, while being matched up against Seth Johnson. Patrick Allen thrived in his new role with the team, scoring 18 points. Another newcomer, in Tre'Shon Baldon-Ames, had 11 points of his own. The biggest question for the Grizzlies may be their ability to shoot from the perimeter, as they took a whopping 42 three's in their opener. They have some talented guards, but they are young and undersized. That contrasts the play of the Bucks, who have some of the best guards in the K1 League. All-league player Darien Bosby leads a star-studded lineup that has finally added some size. Caleb Johnson (15 points) and Jaquan Boxley (13 points) were exceptionally efficient from the outside on Sunday, while Alex Malinic and Blake Graham each had 19 points in their Bucks' debut against the Pacers. Similar to their matchup with the Bulls, expect the Grizzlies to be a bit overmatched on the glass, but to look to find other ways to keep pace with the Bucks in Sunday's opener.

1:00 pm - Pacers (0-1) @ Spurs (1-0)
The young Pacers will be up against it on Sunday as they take on the defending champion Spurs. Although the Spurs played far from their best brand of basketball on Sunday, they still showed why they are the team to beat. Dennis Koger went superhuman, scoring 30 points, shooting 6/7 from three, and grabbing nine rebounds, while also locking down the Kings' CJ Link. Some of the Spurs' other star players will look to get going on offense this week. Tyree Mosley was the only other player to score in double figures for the Spurs, but don't expect that to happen again. Big man Trey Johnson should have a field day against the undersized Pacers, both offensively and defensively. He put on a clinic against the Kings with five blocks. For the Pacers, they will have some growing pains this year, especially as they take on the league's best teams. Their lack of size will prove to be a problem, meaning they need to find ways to score from the perimeter. Look for point guard Jajuan McKinnon to be one of the Pacers' three best players. McKinnon, Kawani Blackman, and Jamari Washington combined for 22 of the team's 25 rebounds in their Week 1 loss to the Bucks. Blackmon and Washington were also the core offense for the Pacers. Blackman had 24 points, while Washington chipped in 18 points. Although this will be their toughest matchup of the season, look for the young Pacers to improve as the year goes on, and be competitive in several games.

2:00 pm - Kings (0-1) @ Nets (1-0)
A difficult start to the season continues for the Kings as they take on Jerry Wills and his Nets team. The Kings had some positive stretches against the Spurs in Sunday's 70-55 loss, but will need to be more consistent on offense if they want to beat a team as talented as the Nets. Star forward CJ Link had 11 points and five rebounds, but was held in check by defensive player of the year candidate, Dennis Koger. Jamir Hinds provided a huge spark for the Nets in the second half, as he scored 19 points. Past that, no player scored more than six points. Although the league-favorite Spurs prove as tough a matchup as any team in the K1 League, the Kings will look to improve on both ends of the court heading into Week 2. The Nets meanwhile showed in Week 1 that they are the real deal. Perhaps as veteran a team as any in the league, the Nets finally have the star power alongside their experience to be contenders. Although big man TJ Wicks didn't light up the stat sheet last week, a game like this will likely showcase his value on the interior. New addition Martavias Laster was the best player on either side of the court against the Knicks, as he scored 19 points. Expect a fun matchup between the elder Link and Sammie Hines, as both teams hope to score the ball a bit better than they did in Week 1.

3:00 pm - Lakers (0-1) @ Suns (0-1)
We don't have to wait long for the first blockbuster matchup of the Fall 2021 League, as the Lakers and Suns square off in Week 2. Despite each team entering the year in the top five of our power rankings, they both were upset in Week 1. Both groups will look to bounce back this week, but the schedule doesn't get any easier. The Lakers couldn't contain Billy Baptist and the Celtics in Week 1, while the Suns committed an uncharacteristically high 18 turnovers in their loss to the Heat. These teams are built very differently, as the Lakers play at least four guards at all times. Last year's league-leader in scoring, Red Binion, put up 17 points in Week 1, but was in foul trouble the entire game. Andre Robertson Jr. will look to continue running the offense through Tone Brooks and Binion, but it's already evident that they will need Brian Hernandez and Black Binion in the lineup as much as possible. These two players add another dimension for the Lakers to be able to score from the outside and to get to the basket. Even with those guys there, the Lakers are going to struggle on the glass. The Suns are huge, and will likely get some easy points on the interior. Expect them to take better care of the ball, and to welcome Jay Kvasnicka and Brian Zirkle back into the lineup with open arms. Ryan Kvasnicka had a very efficient game last Sunday, scoring 20 points on 8/11 shooting and also grabbing seven rebounds. Although we expect the Suns to only get better over the next few weeks, they might want to do so quickly, as the defending champion Spurs loom in Week 3.

4:00 pm - Celtics (1-0) @ Bulls (1-0)
The game of the week matchup for Week 2 features the day's only matchup of 1-0 teams, as the Celtics and Bulls square off at 4 pm. The Bulls did what they were expected to do in Week 1, as they knocked off the Grizzlies by a score of 75-69. Despite the game being closer than some would have anticipated, the Bulls went back to the well - which consisted of their Big 3 and a nice game from Matt Wells. Reigning player of the year Seth Johnson had 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Benito Munoz had 18 points. Bobby Crivokapich had 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Matt Wells had 14 points of his own. We expect Tryston Swartz to return to the lineup this week, as the Bulls look to field their deepest team to date. Although the Bulls took down the Celtics in both matchups last season, this one has a different feel to it, as newcomer Billy Baptist has already shown the ability to raise the Celtics' ceiling. The biggest problem for the Celtics a year ago was their inability to score the basketball consistently. With the league's best scorer now on their roster, it sure feels like the Celtics will win some games against quality opponents this year. Baptist scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds in last week's win, despite playing just over 25 minutes. Gavin Webb was the only other scorer in double figures with 10 points, but he appears to be someone that will show up week in and week out for them. If the Celtics can hang with the Bulls on the glass, and Baptist can do what he so often does, then look for the upstart Celtics to be right in this one.

5:00 pm - Heat (1-0) @ Knicks (0-1)
The Heat picked up a huge win in Week 1 over the Suns, and will look to use a similar formula against the Knicks on Sunday, a team that rebounds as well as anyone in the league. As the Heat wait for center Willie Strickland to make his league debut, they will have their hands full with a Knicks team that outrebounded the Nets by on Sunday. Despite not shooting the ball well at all, the Knicks still had some very positive signs. One of those was their ability to rebound the ball, and that was made evident even without big man Rob Anderson on the court. His brother Chris Anderson, along with LJ Harris, Quon Shaw, Braijon Thomas, and JJ Calvin, proved that the Knicks will be capable of beating anyone with their size and strength. Their kryptonite in Week 1 was inefficient guard play, and only connecting on 2/26 from three point land. On the flip side, the Heat meanwhile rely almost entirely on their guard play to win games. Their steady diet of defensive pressure and transition basketball allows them to play bigger than they are. Terrell Hendrix continues to be a certified bucket, as he scored 17 points in Week 1. Mason Monahan provided a nice spark off the bench, scoring 11 points for the Heat. The key to this game will be if the Knicks are able to take care of the basketball. If they can control the tempo of the game, they should dominate on the glass. However, if they allow the game to turn into a track meet, the Heat may do exactly what they did in their Week 1 upset of the Suns.
