Summer professional basketball has a home in Orlando and has been quite successful since the Orlando Magic has served as one of the hosts to the NBA® Summer Pro League. However, just blocks from the Amway, there is another venue where you can see a few NBA® faces and even more NBA® prospects, Foreign league players, and NCAA® Division I athletes all under one roof - the Orlando Downtown Recreation Center is that place. NBA® names such as Jason Williams, Courtney Lee, Donald Sloan, Chandler Parsons, Austin Rivers, and Elfrid Payton have competed along with local and international stars such as Majic Dorsey, Darius Washington Jr, Hakeem Johnson, and Iren Rainey. There is no question that this league has been filled with some of the best talent the sport has to offer but over the last few years, the Orlando Pro-AM has been on a slight decline. A small Orlando based apparel company with a dream and a solid plan has offered a solution to this decline; a new and improved league that will offer many features and a level of entertainment that is found in leagues such as the Seattle Pro-Am featuring Jamal Crawford and the Drew League featuring a host of big time pros and competition that most euro leagues would envy.
Aptly titled THE Orlando Pro-Am Hoops League, sponsored by Xi WEAR® Apparel company, this league will launch the summer of 2017 as an NCAA® Certified and NBA® Sanctioned league with comprehensive stat tracking and archiving, premium uniforms and merchandise, a high level of competition, community involvement, youth mentor programs, and job creation.
