Game 1 Volcanico vs Sharks
In our first matchup of the day the Achada Grande Volcanico take on the Palmarejo Sharks. Coming off of their first win of the season the sharks plan to carry that energy into this game. With new addition Micheal Mendes in the post as well as sharpshooter Joel Almeida on the perimeter the sharks new look rotation and energy can be attributed to the new faces. However, flaming hot Volcanico who is off to an undefeated start plans to keep things business per usual. Lead by ferocious backcourt tandem Juwan Stepney and Nasir Core who average roughly 60 points a game combined. After an explosive performance from Core who poured in 65 points in his last matchup, this game will come down to Cameron Clarks ability to control the paint, protect the rim and take some of the offensive load from the back court. KT’s cocky selection for this game is the Palmarejo Sharks pulling off a big upset and handing the Volcanico its first loss of the season with a final score of 93-85.
Game 2 Gorillas vs Warriors
Today’s second matchup has been labeled game of the day and should live up to its expectations given the fire power on both sides. The Gorillas are coming off of a tough loss to the Volcanico and Nasir Core’s 65-point explosion. However, they have plenty of scorers of their own in Rodrigues Palmer, Allex Austin who are top 5 in the league average and newcomer Shane De Rosa. De Rosa, a scoring first guard gives the Gorillas a much-needed ball handler. Taking the pressure off of Williams and Palmer allowing them to play their true positions and style of basketball. On the other side of the ball, we have the undefeated Warriors who plan on keeping things rolling with their versatile two-man tandem in Joshua “Yo-Yo” York-Frazer and Andre “Scoop” Jackson. Both have been extremely dominant and pled a case for the best big man and guard in the league. KT’s Cocky Selection for this matchup is the Warriors continuing dominance and outscoring the gorillas star studded roster 97-91.
Game 3 CB Cidadela vs Achada Panthers
The prime-time game consists of two teams searching for their identity, CB Cidadela vs the Achada Panther CB Cidadela having dealt with turmoil all season long from early injuries to suspensions, they can finally get a look at their team fully active and healthy. Big man Zoran Talley was greatly missed in the last matchup for Cidadela but plans to bring his energy and leadership back into the Cidadela DNA. Standout guard Kobe Reeves plans to continue his dominance as he has been carrying the scoring load for the last two games with Paris Collins and Talley missing. However, the Achada Panthers who are the only winless team left in the league, are desperate for a win. The Panthers came out with another improved performance in last week’s matchup as they inch closer and closer to tasting victory. Behind star Nick Manor-Halls 26 point per game average and vocal guard Taras Carter, the Panthers are a sleeper team who have the ability and talent to shock a lot of teams in this league. With the addition of two Cape Verdean national team players Anderson Gomes and Denzel Brito the Panthers have added a few meaningful weapons to the arsenal. KT’s Cocky Selection for this matchup is CB Cidadela losing a tightly contested matchup giving the Panthers their first win of the season 88-86.
