**MC Soccer League Rules** No foul language or gestures No taking off shirts No tackling from behind No kicking or attempting to kick No tripping or attempting to trip No jumping at players No charging No striking No pushing No holding No spitting at players No handling the ball dangerously No stopping the goalkeeper from releasing the ball No delaying the game No obstructing views No standing too close to sidelines Poor sportsmanship will not be tolerated No fighting of any kind verbal or physical Violating any rules will result in suspensions and expulsions depending on the severity of the situation Games are 9 V 9 with eight field players and a goalie. The goalie should wear a unique color vest and gloves. You may start the game with a minimum of 7 players on the field. All league games are 55 minutes long, running time. The clock does not stop for any reason. There is a 5 minute halftime. Games will end on schedule regardless of the start time. There is no extra time for the regular season. Lateness to a scheduled match will result in a penalty against the offending team: 5-minute lateness will result in a 1-goal deficit 10-minute lateness will result in a 2-goal deficit 15-minute lateness will result in a forfeited match Substitutions are to be made on the fly and when the team has ball possession. The teams should not attempt to delay the game while substitutions are made. Goalie changes are to be made on the fly. A change of goalkeeper must be authorized by the referee. There are no SLIDE TACKLES!!!! TACKLES FROM BEHIND are also illegal. If a player continues to abuse these rules, the referee will remove the player from the game for a minimum of five minutes. A goalie may not play a ball with his hands if he receives an intentional pass from a teammate’s feet. The goalie may receive a pass with his hands from a teammate that is played with anything other than his feet. Violation of these rules is a direct kick from the nearest point outside the penalty area. All free kicks are indirect. Defenders must be at least 5 yards away, they may not encroach within the 5 yard distance by sticking their legs out towards the ball in an attempt to block the kick. Stats will be kept and there will be winners for the following (Top Scorer, Most Assists, and Most Saves). The referees will keep track of these stats using the player number and those will be updated weekly on our website. Goalies have a maximum of six seconds to put the ball in play. The goalie may not hold the ball any longer unless substitutions are being made. There are no offsides. A goal may be scored from any point within the field of play. **Conduct Rules** Reserve players will stand on the sidelines and not behind their goal or their opponents goal. All spectators and guests must stand at a distance from the sidelines and away from the reserve players. Taunting of players and teams will not be tolerated. Yellow cards: bad sportsmanship, cursing/yelling at refs or other players, minor infractions (slide tackle), or taking off shirts. Violations at the discretion of the ref. Red cards: 2 yellow cards, any major infractions. Violations at the discretion of the ref. 1-game suspension: If a player accumulates 2 red cards, the player will be suspended for the following game. Player will also receive one game suspension for excessive infractions, excessive use of bad language or other infractions at the discretion of the refs and organizers. Season long suspension: if player accumulates 2 or more suspensions, player will be suspended from the league. Additionally, players will be automatically suspended for the season for major infractions such as Punching; Fighting ; Excessive unsportsmanship; Spitting at an opponent or any other person; Persistent use of extremely abusive language or behavior toward a Game Official; Bodily contact with a Game Official in Dissent; Field and property damage, at the discretion of the referees and commissioners. Suspension from all Muslim Complex leagues: if player receives 2 or more season long suspensions, player will not be allowed to participate in any future Muslim Complex activities indefinitely.
