Following a weekend off for Easter break, we enter the second half of the regular season with 18 games to go. Three teams sit at 3-1, and three more teams are within one game of first place. Week four’s action will feature several of these teams going head to head with a lot on the line. Sit back and enjoy!

Team 1 vs. Team 4
Team 1 is one of those three teams that comes in at 3-1. While their loss against Team 9 hurts their chances of winning the regular season crown, they have still put themselves in a very favorable position entering the second half of the season. They will have their hands full on Sunday, against a Team 4 that sits at 2-2, but has lost its two games by a combined four points. If Team 4 has their full team in attendance, they will likely push Team 1 to the brink. Look for Ray Lawrence to be an X-factor at the point guard position for Team 1, while Kale Maupin will look to hold down the middle for Team 4.

Team 4 vs. Team 7
Team 4 will be back on the court against Team 7 for the week’s second game. Team 7 comes into the game with a 1-3 record, as it continues its very difficult stretch of the schedule. Jaquan Boxley and Darian Bosby have emerged as talented scorers, along with Team 7’s leader Patrick Cullom. Although their tandem of guards has proved to be solid, their short bench could be the difference in this one, as Team 4 goes ten players deep. Expect Kale Maupin to have his way in this one for Team 4 in a comfortable win.

Team 9 vs. Team 2
The league’s other two 3-1 teams matchup in this one for a pivotal contest. Although Team 2 is the younger, less experienced team, they continue to show that they can play with anyone. They edged out Team 8 by a score of 69-68 last week, as CJ Link scored 21 points and Braijon Thomas added 17 points. Meanwhile for Team 9, they picked up a huge win in week three by knocking off Team 1. Tyree Mosley took home player of the week honors with an outstanding second half performance. Look for Team 2 to hang around with Team 9 in a game that will determine a lot for the seeding of the playoff tournament.

Team 2 vs. Team 5
Team 2 enters Sunday with a 3-1 record, while Team 5 comes in with a 2-1 record. In addition to the seeding implications that this game has, it also carries some bad blood between teams. Team 2’s Antwan Peterson, who began the season on Team 5, will be in the spotlight, as he matches up against his old teammates. Both teams will want this one badly, and both teams could really use a win in this bigtime game. Either way, grab your popcorn for this one and enjoy the tension that is surely to ensue.

Team 5 vs. Team 6
In what will be its first doubleheader of the season, Team 5 will have a pivotal matchup against a 1-3 Team 6. In a game that could potentially determine placement for a sixth or seventh seed, a lot will be on the line in this one. Terrell Hendrix continues to be a huge force on the offensive end for Team 5, and it seems like Team 6 will have a tough time matching up against him. Team 6’s demise has ultimately been their three-point shooting. Although they make a lot, they miss way more than any other team in the league. Team 6 will likely need to shot above 35% from deep to keep pace with Team 5.

Team 8 vs. Team 3
Team 8 sits comes into this contest with a 3-2 record as they matchup with a winless Team 3. Although Team 3 will be with some reinforcements as they welcome Zach Mcguirt, it’s hard to see them keeping pace with Team 8 who passes the ball as well as anyone in this league. Look for Team 8 to dominate on the glass and to score at will in this one, as they improve to 4-2 and stick around the top of the league standings.
