The FKF Appeals Committee confirmed all the sanctions against AFC Leopards but one following the abandoned FKF Premier League round 22 match at Bukhungu Stadium.
FKF’s Leagues and Competitions committee found AFC Leopards culpable of breaching several regulations and awarded the match to Kakamega Homeboyz on the basis of 3 points and 2 goals.
Ingwe was further ordered to cater for the medical expenses of the center referee of the day, Mr. Michael Obuya, pay a fine of Kshs. 500,000, play three games behind closed doors, and docked 3 points of the cumulative season’s tally.
The Appeals Committee upheld all sanctions except the decision to dock Leopards 3 points. The initial fine of Kshs. 500,000 was also reduced to Kshs. 300,000.
According to the committee, AFC Leopards SC violated Article 9.3.3 of the Rules and Regulations Governing Kenyan Football (2019) which states that;
“Clubs are responsible for the conduct of their members and supporters and must ensure they behave in a fair manner and refrain from violent, threatening, abusive, obscene and other provocative and unsporting conduct or language at a match.”
The committee further directed FKF Disciplinary Committee to open disciplinary proceedings against culpable parties in accordance with Articles 9.1,9.4,9,5,9.6 of the Rules and Regulations Governing Kenyan Football (2019).
