Soy United relegated to division two
Likuyani based Soy United is the latest team to be relegated this season after Aps Bomet,Kona Rangers, Dimba Patriots and Mayenje Santos.
Soy United had received a notification from Football Kenya Federation on Tuesday warning them (Soy United) of a potential relegation for not honouring matches
In the email seen by Ow Sports ,FKF through Head of leagues and competitions department Doreen Nabwire,noted that Soy United seemed to lack financial capabilities to honour matches and failure to honour St Joseph's Youth fixture will get Soy United relegated
Prior to Saturday's fixture ,Soy United had issues two walkovers aganist GDC Nakuru FC and Bungoma Superstars at home Ivugwi Primary school grounds.
With the team failing to honour a third match in a row ,according to FIFA & FKF rules and regulations governing football Soy United are suspended from the ongoing Fkf division one league Zone B season and relegated to FKF division two 2023/2024 season.
Earlier on Ow Sports had reported of Soy United management involving in a push and pull with a potential investor,the anonymous investor wanted requested to have Soy United name changed but the club's management did not agree to the terms .
Soy United patron Edwin Ayiro has been quoted severally on mainstream media and Sports blogs in Kenya complaining of the high cost of running football in the country with no returns .
When reached out for a comment on the potential relegation,no member of Soy United answered our calls and messages.
