Migori Youth FC are still in with a chance of earning promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after edging Vihiga United 2-1 in a match played at Mumias Sports Complex on Saturday afternoon.

The Migori-based side did not take anything for granted as Kevin Oluoch named a formidable line-up with Fredrick Onyango, given the nod upfront.

The forward, who was formally on the books of Green Commandos, made his impact known almost immediately as he netted with ten minutes on the clock.

However, Kaduka Godrick, who was a constant danger, found the equalizer with 34 minutes played.

Vihiga started the second half with vigour, but Migori extinguished that fire as Onyango doubled the lead in the 73rd minute to seal all three points for Migori Youth.

Elsewhere, Murang'a Seal missed a chance to close the widening gap between them and NSL runaway leaders Shabana when they were held to a goalless draw by Silibwet Leons.

Seal saw most of the ball in the match played at Bomet Stadium, but they could not create clear-cut chances for their centre forward, John Kiplagat, who looked frustrated upfront.

In another exciting league encounter at Awendo Green Stadium, Mara Sugar beat visiting Gusii FC 1-0.

Victor Ngume scored the winner in the 22nd minute to enable the Trans Mara-based side to pick maximum points.

At IIdamat playing ground in Kajiado County, Kajiado beat Kisumu All Stars 2-0, with the former dictating the terms from the first whistle, and they went ahead in the 12th-minute courtesy of red-hot striker Abdulrahaman Bwanashikuri.

Liban Ali extended Kajiado's lead in the 25th minute of the match, but they took their feet off the pedal allowing the visitors to dominate the better parts of the game.

In Nairobi, Naivas FC hammered Kibera Black Stars 4-0 in a match that was played at Camp Toyoyo Grounds.

Ken Mutembei triggered the rout in the match's opening minute, and further goals from Francis Gethoi and Julius Ngigi gave the hosts a 3-0 lead within the first seven minutes.

The early goals put Black Stars in panic, but they defended well until the 82nd minute when Naivas extended their lead through John Kelwish.

The striker sent tongues wagging as he brilliantly executed his curling effort, which beat the Black Stars keeper hands down.
