Knicks-108 versus Zero to One-63
The first game of the night featured the shorthanded Zero to One versus the Knicks, who were also missing key pieces to their team. Zero to One started strong with key buckets from the outside and easy lay ups-Justin Leamy and Jim Murphy led the way with 21 points and 10 rebounds and 23 points and 13 rebounds, respectively. Dan B. guest starred for Zero to One 17 points and 16 boards, Dan helped by draining Steph Curry like baskets to keep it interesting.
The short handed ZTO team scoring was on point in the first half and looked to be well on their way to that first W. The Knicks proved to be slow starters in the first 2 weeks of the young season, although they have shown hard work and hustle can keep them in games. In Week 1 the Knicks came back to only lose by 2 in the closing seconds, but this week proved different. The Knicks stopped Zero To One's hustle and flow back court of Murphy and Leamy and insert of Dan with their continuous drives to the rack. Each possession the Knicks pushed the ball hard and got buckets to not only over come a 10 pts lead but also took the lead for good for the big W. The Knicks look to make it 2 in a row next week versus Lavar's Ballers.
The Process-44 versus the Rookies-61
The Young Process took on big man Zach Benjamin and the Rookies. The Process fought hard and defended Zach as best as possible but every time the Process made the game interesting and cut the lead to 10; the Rookies got big shots- such as a huge "O" board and a put back or an up and under move by Zach.
The process is slowly improving by using their deep bench and speed to keep the games interesting! The Rookies kept the young process at arms length and shut the paint down, they finished the Process by17 points.
The Foundation-40 vsLavar's Ballers-100
This game was scheduled as the "Game of the Week", but LB shut it down early by scoring at will. Lb scored multiple ways by running fast breaks and exhausting The Foundation. Lb made sure all players touched the ball with crisp passing and looking for the open man- led by pg Bruce Williams with (League record high)17 dimes, 6 points, 1 rebound and 2 steals. Each player on Lavar's Ballers roster contributed-Dan with 13 points, Gary with an easy 29 points and the twin towers of Dave and Matt combined for 42 points and 17 boards.
The Foundation struggled to stop Lb from scoring, they also shot themselves in the foot by making turn overs and taking tough long contested jumpers! The Foundation was held to a low of 40 points in week 2 and look for a hopeful bounce back in week 3 versus The Process, a small bright spot for the Foundation was Viet with 10 pts and Julius with 14 pts.
