Better Call Gasol has broken up for the 2017 season, along with their championship went former Division 1 Villanova Wildcat Stand out-Shane Clark. Clark looks to come back for Green Tree Basketball League, season 2018. Clark took his talents to the USLI Basketball right after Green Tree Season 1 and lost in the Championship game (along with Green Tree Commissioner Julius deVera), due to the grueling back to back seasons-Shane has looked to rest his body for the future summer leagues and tournaments. Shane has quoted, “I am truly going to miss the competition that the Green Basketball League put out every night. I was tired playing in the cage as everyone brought their “A” game”.
Last Year’s runner up, Pippen Ain’t Easy has officially retired since they currently finished up in the Philadelphia League, FACAA.
A merger of several teams has occurred, as The Warriors lost Modiuddin (Former East Stroudsburg University Star) due to his focus on several business ventures and The Foundation broke up their band. Same team name of the Foundation but new look with the addition of Green Tree come back players -Lex Cruz, Chad Acuna and Jason Quevada join forces with Uncle Drew aka Darrius Rouse( Former East Strouds-burg University Star).
Green Tree 2017 is bringing a bunch of new teams such as The Process, Lavar’s Ball-ers and The Knicks. We look to see what time of basketball the new teams bring to the Green Tree Stage. Team Zero to One showcases Justin Leamy, who scored career and Green Tree high of 62 points. Justin jumps on board with the bash brothers –Frank Kostick and Jimmy Murphy. Kostick and Murphy will bring their inside toughness and tenacious defense along with Justin’s scoring ability.
The Rookies bring former Foundation swing man Jeff Moyer leading way along with his own team of bigs.
The 2017 Green Tree League brings a bunch of new faces looking to show case their talent in the cage. A new champion will be crowned, at the end of the day it will be the last man standing. This goes along with Michael Jordan words of wisdom to a UNC crowd a few weeks ago, “The Ceiling is the Roof”!
