Report by Sandra Awori and Brian Odhiambo

Kitara maintained their brilliant home form in the Fufa big league as they cruised past Luweero United 4-0 on Thursday evening at the Kigaaya play grounds.

Kitara hunger and intent was immediate as soon as the opening minute when Edson Agondeze beat his marker to the ball and struck it only for the woodwork to deny him.

Kisaakye John’s cross in the 5th minute was headed into the top left corner of the net by Patrick Kaddu to give us an early lead and take his goal tally to 13 in twelve matches.

The visitors almost got a leveler three minutes later but goal keeper Farouk Yawe was alert and calmly condensed the shot.

Kitara FC had more attempts going forward but the Kosovo boys remained resilient and made sure the score remained 1-0.Five minutes into the second half Kisaakye rose into the air to nod in Erick Muber’s cross beyond the keeper’s reach to double our lead.

Kisaakye turned provider for Edson Agondeze who tapped in a low ball from a quick counter attack from the left wing.

Kitara coach Mark made changes bringing on pacey winger Stewart Akugizibwe and Ronald Kayondo in place of John Kisaakye and Moses Sseluyidde respectively.

Akugizibwe picked up from where his predecessor left making dangerous runs on the left flank and two attempts at goal.

The former Kibanjwa skipper finally capped his performance with a goal piling more misery on the visitors.

Agondeze and Kisaakye now have 8 and 3 goals apiece.

Meanwhile, the victory made sure Kitara ended 2022 at home unbeaten and on top of the sixteen team log with 26 points from twelve games.

Kitara FC next fixture will be a trip to Eastern Uganda in Soroti on January 5, where we shall be taking on Soroti CityCityCityCity
