National Enterprise Corporation Football Club (NEC) continued with their perfect start to the new FUFA
Big League season after registering a 2-1 win against Ndejje University at Bombo Military Barracks.
The team needed to come from a goal down to overcome the University side.
The hosts scored first when Samuel Ngabo converted from the spot in the 5th minute.
However, NEC found the equaliser through Derrick Sekiranda in the 38th minute before second half
substitute Stephen Nyaiga scored the winner in the closing stages.
The win meant NEC maintained their stay at the top of the table on nine points from three games.
At Kigaya Primary School in Hoima, striker Patrick Kaddu extended his scoring spree with a brace against
Jinja North United FC.
The forward orchestrated the comeback for Kitara who had to come from a goal down.
Edison Matama scored as early as the 4th minute to give the visitors a good start.
However, Kaddu scored from the spot midway the first stanza and added the other just after resumption
to take his tally to seven in three games. Edson Agondeze put the icing on the cake.
The result saw Kitara FC remain second on the log with seven points, two behind leaders NEC FC.
At Soroto Municipal Stadium, the visitors of Northern Gateway up a fascinating display to dispatch
Soroti City FC 3-0 thanks to goals from Emmanuel Obete, Denis Amut and Stephen Oriokot’s own goal.
In other games, Mbarara City beat Lugazi FC 3-1 courtesy of goals from Henry Kitegenyi, Ibrahim Tembo
and Seiri Arigumaho while Police were victorious against Kataka in a 1-0 win.
Calvary FC defeated Kyetume 2-1, Luweero United fell 2-3 at home to Booma FC while
Adjumani TC shared spoils with Karo Karungi in a 1-1 draw.
