Kyetume FC, through its lawyers, Bagyenda and company advocates, had filed a lawsuit in the Mukono High Court against the Federation of Uganda Football Association on September 14th ,2022 after FUFA's decision to relegate Kyetume from participating in the ongoing Uganda Premier league season,2022/2023 from which Kyetume had gained promotion.

The club was denied a license after failing to register the required minimum of 18 players on the Fufa Connect System by August 10, a decision they were given chance to appeal. Kyetume would later appeal the ruling further to the Fufa's top most organ , the Executive Committee. As a result Federation of Uganda Football Association upheld the decision that sent ‘newly promoted’ Kyetume FC to the third
division after failing to meet minimum licensing requirements.
The ruling read,excerpt:

“FUFA appreciates your effort to fulfil Club Licensing requirements to participate in the first division 2022/23. Your request has been considered by FUFA Club Licensing Committee,” reads the letter by FUFA Deputy CEO,Decolas Kizza.

“The Committee noted that your club had no players on the dashboard in the FUFA Connect System as no player was uploaded onto the system by deadline (August 10 2022) as a minimum Club Licensing requirement.

“The decision of the club licensing Committee is therefore upheld.

“FUFA wishes to advise that Kyetume FC undertakes to fulfil requirements for the third division Buganda Region season 2022/23.It is our sincere hope that the club will understand the sporting intentions of this decision.”

Without another chance to appeal, Kyetume who finished above Kataka in 3rd place in last season’s FUFA
Big League missed on the UPL fixtures for the 2022/23 season.

A ruling made at Mokono High Court last week ,indicated that FUFA had made a mistake by not allowing Kyetume more time to compile with the Club licensing despite giving Tooro United more time and therefore FUFA directed to include the western Nile club in Fufa Big league fixtures for 2022/23
season.

Despite wining the appeal , Kyetume Fc never met the requirements needed to take part in Uganda Premier League and therefore had to grab the slot meant for Tooro United who were relegated to fourth division in Ugandan football.
