The FUFA Big League secretariat has finally released the fixture for the 2022/23 season that commences on 13th October.The League governing body released the fixture for all the 30 matchdays but involving only 14 teams.

The first round will be played on one day while the second round will commence on 20th October before the season climaxes on 18th May.
All teams will begin their title bid for new title and promotion on the same day. Mbarara City, Police FC and Tooro United are the clubs that have joined the league after being relegated from the top flight League.

Booma FC

Booma was founded in 2012 by a group of young stars who used to train at Booma Grounds in Masindi town.

In their first regional league season, Booma finished third.They came a place better the next campaign (2018/19). 2019/20 season saw Booma top Albertine group but unfortunately lost to Kasese New Villa thus missing out on qualifying to FUFA Big League. The following season, (2020/21), Booma finished top in Albertine Group again and defeated Asingya FC from Edward Group to qualify for the final playoffs atFUFA Technical Centre, Njeru, and eventually made it to the big league.

The team retained most of its players from last season. among them are lethal forwards Assimwe Clinton, Wabulo Emmanuel and Ashiraf Ali Kante. Other notable players are Aldrine Kambale, Emmauel Ekwong Chris, Isingoma and Walter Omona.

The side palys in the famous Masindi Stadium as its home ground.

NEC FC

NEC is a Nakawa based side and was started in 2017. the team will use the Coffee Ground in Bugolobi as their home pitch in the 2022/23 campaign.
Former Uganda Cranes striker,Robert Ssentongo is among the top players that NEC pin their hopes on ahead of the coming season. Hood Kakooza, Angelo Kizza, Moses Okot among others are the players to help the Wakiso District based side in the coming season.

Northern Gateway FC

Northern Gateway FC was promoted to the big league last season.The team played out to a 2-2 draw in the regulation time against Young Elephants before the latter lost to the former on penalties. the tie was the final match of the 2021/22 Northern Regional League.Northern Gateway will host all its 2022/23 big league matches at the famous Gate Stadium in Lira City.

Kaaro Kalungi FC

Kaaro Karungi FC is a community football club found in Ibanda District in Western Uganda.The Ibanda District based side secured a slot in the Big League after beating fanceied** Kigezi Home Boys**,4-3 on penalties after the Western Region league playoff final had ended 0-0. Kaaro Kalungi is the first-ever team from Ibanda District to play at the highest level of football in the country.

Kitala FC

Kitala FC was founded in 2010. the former top flight side has an experienced squad to bank on ahead of the coming season. Goalkeeper Farouk Yawe,Sali Davis, Joseph Mbabali and captain Maxwell Owachigui are among the players to help the team this season.

Luweeero United

Luwero United was started in the year 2007 as a fourth division club. The team, which is tagged as the ‘Kosovo Boyz', was recently promoted to the second division FUFA Big League during the regional play-offs at the Federation’s Technical Centre in Njeru, Buikwe District.
Since inception, the club has used several venues to host their home matches as Kasana Stadium, Kasaala and recently the Nimrod Playground. They have also been active in the Uganda Cup since 2007 with the best performance coming in the 2016 season when they bowed out in the quarter finals to Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) Football Club.

The 2022/23 FUFA Big League season is knocking on the doors and preparations for Luwero United are already underway with recruitment of players and other staff.

The team captain and first choice goalkeeper Farouk Yawe Sebanja is one of the big players expected to help the side in the forthcoming season.

Calvary FC

Calvary Football Club was formed in August 2008. The Yumbe District based side is nicknamed as 'The Horizon Stars' and has its top roots deeply embedded in the values of Christianity with a firm base of a church foundation. Its main aims are to model lives and exploit talents.

On 31st October 2020, the team gained promotion to the FUFA Big status following a 2-0 win over Northern Gateway at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru-Jjinja. Striker Kassim Talib and winger Jamil Asega won the day for the side. They finished a respectable sixth in the 2021/22 Big League season.

Calvary will use Yumbe Municipal pitch as their home ground for the forthcoming season.

Jinja North United FC

Based in Eastern Uganda,** Jinja, North United earned promotion to the FUFA Big League in June 2022 after beating **Mbale Heroes with a solitary goal in a Regional League playoff match hosted at Iganga Saza ground. Dickson Matama, Azizi Kemba, Franco Mugomba, James Khukha Rocky Ayebale among other players are some of the stars expected to help the side ahead of its Big League debut season.

Adjumani Town Council FC.

Adjumani Town Council FC will use the Paridi Stadium in Adjumani District as their home ground for the 2022/23 FUFA Big league.

The side earned promotion to Uganda's second tier after emerging winners of the West Nile Regional League. Nicknamed** 'The Cocks', Adjumani Town Council FC is a football team founded in 2008 based in Adjumani Town - located in the **West Nile Region of Uganda. They are known as the cocks (Aulogo) which is a cultural symbol for the** Madi People of West Nile region**.

The Cocks will be looking up to Sadik Nasur among others for goals in the coming season.

Lugazi FC

Lugazi FC is a professional football club based in Lugazi, Buikwe District, Uganda.

It was founded in 2010 as Kampala University FC and in that season (2010/2011), the club competed in the Luweero District Football Association (5th tier) emerging winners and thereafter got promoted to 4th Division.

After playing in the 4th Division for two seasons, the club ascended to Buganda Regional League (BRL) in the 2012/2013 season.They won the Zonal Mini League unbeaten and went on to beat ** Ngoma United** 5-3 in the final penalty shootout.

In their maiden season in BRL, the club qualified for the FUFA Big League play-offs after finishing in the second position of Ssezibwa Group but unfortunately lost to Synergy Football club 3-2 (on aggregates), over 2 legs. In 2020 the club evolved, got new management and subsequently the name was changed from Kampala University FC to Lugazi FC.

In the 2021/22 season Lugazi was in the Regional Finals, played on 16th June 2022 at Kavumba Recreational Ground and impressively defeated Kajjansi (1-0) with the solo goal scored by Louis Anguti, and thus got promoted to FUFA Big League.

Lugazi FC has anchored its spirit on six core values of: Diversity, Integrity, Accountability, Fun, Innovation, and Team Work.

Ndejje University FC.

Ndejje University Football Club, also Ndejje UFC, are a Ugandan University football club from Ndejje, in Luwero District. They have mostly played in the second division of Ugandan football but appeared in the top flight for the 2018–19 season. The club is affiliated with Ndejje University, the second Ugandan team in the Uganda Premier League to be affiliated with an educational institution.

Ndejje were one of the founding clubs of the FUFA Big League in 2009. They were promoted to the Uganda Premier League after winning the Elgon Group and their promotion from the FUFA Big League in the 2017/2018 football season.The club was relegated after one season in the top flight after losing 1–0 to Onduparaka FC on the second to last match day of the 2019 season.

Ndejje were the 2017/18 FUFA Big League winners.

Soroti City FC

Found in North Eastern Uganda, Soroti Fc was formerly known as Light SS. The side became the first team to earn promotion to the 2022/23 FUFA Big League after beating Basere FC 1-0 in extra time in a playoff game played in June 2022 at the** Oligoi Stadium.
**Isaac Odeke
scored the all-important goal in the extra time following a barren full-time stalemate. Soroti City FC made it to the promotional play off final having topped the Kyoga Group with 35 points from 14 games. They will use Soroti Municipal stadium as their home ground in the 2022/23 FUFA Big League.

Mbarara City FC (Ankole Lions)

Mbarara City FC is a football club in Mbarara City, Western Uganda.

Mbarara got promoted in the Uganda Premier League in May 2017, after defeating Synergy FC in the FUFA Big League Play Offs, however, the Ankole Lions got relegated after finishing 15th in the 2011/22 season.

The team uses Kakyeka Stadium as its home hosting grounds and has more fans than any other team in the Western Region of Uganda.

Mbarara was founded in 2010 as Citizens FC, after the management of Citizens High School in Mbarara decided to create a team to play in mature competitions and help in nurturing football at the school.
The team played in the Western Uganda regional league starting from 2010 to 2014. In 2014, the team won the Western Uganda Regional League and was promoted to the FUFA Big League.

In July 2016, Citizens FC was renamed Mbarara City FC, mainly to get acceptability and fan base among the people of Mbarara district and the whole of Western Uganda. This coincided with the club being promoted to the topflight, the Uganda Premier League in its first season after adopting the name Mbarara City FC. The club clinched promotion after defeating Synergy 2-1 in the FUFA Big League playoffs on 5 May 2017.

In 2014, Mbarara won the Western Region League.

Police FC

Police FC is a football club from Kampala in Uganda. The club was formed in 1965, and their motto is 'Play to Serve'. They played the Uganda Cup Final in 1968 against Coffee FC, won their first Uganda premier league title in 2005 and CECAFA Club Championship in 2006.

Police was spurred on in the early years by Dennis Obua as a player and later as coach. During Obua's years, he managed to stage youthful players who have blossomed into really great talent. When Obua became the Federation of Uganda Football Association president, he hired Steven Mulinde to step in his shoes.

Police saw tremendous growth and lately has been involved in several international ties. In 2006, they were eliminated from the CAF Champions League in the Preliminary round.

The team will take part in the 2022/23 Big League after being relegated from top tier last season.
