National Enterprise Corporation Football Club (NEC FC) have been promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League for the first time in the club’s history.

The Army sides will compaign in the local top flight for the first time of asking after thumping Kataka FC 4-1 at Mbale Municipal stadium on Thursday evening.

Julius Walugembe bagged a magical brace while Tonny Kiberu and Marvin Kavuma scored a goal each to hand the Bugolobi based entity the much needed victory.

Victory saw NEC FC joined Kitara FC and Mbarara City FC as the third team to book place in the 2023/24 StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.

The result also ensured that NEC FC finish the season in the third place of the log standings on 57 points after 30 games.

Kataka FC meanwhile finished the season in the 12th position with 34 points from 30 matches.
