House Leaguers,

The captains of the House League gathered at a local establishment last night (11/30/2021) to discuss the first couple of weeks of the season.

Thanks to all for keeping the hockey clean and games mostly on time.

One concern that we discussed was maintaining the goal of the House League to be a spot where former competitive adult hockey players of an older age can play competitive hockey with similarly skilled players. The captains agreed to stay in touch on this subject over the next month.

Another concern discussed was to ensure we have decent benches each night. We know that life is a little crazy these days and conflicts will arise. To that end, the captains want to allow members of other team’s rosters to sub in for games in situations where their expected attendance is under 11 skaters. So…The plan is as follows – if you would like to be notified when another team (which is NOT playing your team!) has a need for a sub, please respond to me with your name, preferred method of contact and primary position (forward or defense). I will share that list with the captains for their use as needed.

The final big subject we knocked around is our playoff structure. We will likely shift to a round robin type of final to hopefully curb the issues that have made the end of a couple of recent seasons a little bit less than the desired outcome we envisioned. More on that in the coming weeks.

Reminder…
Players who opted for the payment plan will be contacted about making their second payment next week.

Finally –
We need a scorekeeper! The job pays $40 cash/game! If you know of someone who can do it, please let me know!
