House League Members - please see an important update from the management of HVCC.

Hello all,

I wanted to reach out to all parties, to keep you informed of an issue that we are experiencing at the rink. Upon start up and cooling of the rink, one of the compressor motors had a mechanical failure/worn from years of use. We were able to isolate the issue prior to a catastrophic failure. Thats the bad news...

Good news.... The service team is on site and a new motor assembly is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday 10/27. We are ready to place the motor once it arrives.

With the placement of the new compressor, cool down of the arena floor, Painting the ice & buildup, the rink opening timetable has been pushed back by one week, it would now be SATURDAY NOVEMBER 6, 2021. If anything changes on this timeline, I will reach out via email.

Not what anyone wants to hear, I know, we are just as excited to have you back on campus skating, as you are to be on the ice. Know that everything possible is being done to get you back skating with us.

With that in mind, Let's talk COVID Policies... The campus policy for all buildings is that MASKS are REQUIRED indoors regardless of vaccination status for everyone. We have worked with our Health & Safety team and come to an agreement that while on the ice participating in an athletic activity, practice, scrimmage, game....that those participating do not have to wear a mask. We do ask that, bench personnel, coaches on the team bench, people in the penalty/timekeeper's boxes and all spectators wear a mask. Coaches may lower their masks to talk with their team/on ice officials if needed.

Locker/Changing Rooms will be available for use. Please be certain to check for the locker room schedule, posted outside the doors & at the main entrance near the skate shop.

We are following the CDC & Rensselaer County Health Departments guidelines for facility operations

We are excited to have you back on the ice with us. Wish you all a great season.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you,

Be Well,
